What a Loss

Damn. Damn damn damn.

So, of course, the Revs overcome all sorts of pressure at the stadium last week to win the game, only to play a weaker team and lose. Fair play to Colorado, perhaps they were ripping apart our defense better than some teams have but we really need to build some sort of consistency. Only nine games left now and we really need to start looking like the cup team we all need them to be.

Stevie Nicol had this to say following the match:

“We really didn’t come to play today. When you come in at halftime two-nil down, and you are playing away from home, you’re climbing a mountain. When things are going well, maybe you think you can just turn up, and every now and then you get a kick on the backside. Today we didn’t turn up ready to win the fight at the start.”

Couldn't say it better myself. You're on a fucking mountain anyways in Denver. Enough excuses though; the team has not been performing at a high level when they need to. It just looks like they walked into Denver expecting to win, no matter what. And they got spanked.

Next week it is Kansas City, and everyone's favorite keeper Kevin Hartmanswallows. We really do need to go in there and kick them. If there is any team for us to play against, to at least appear like we aren't falling asleep every week, it is KC. Barring the nightmare the first time we played them at home, we have played reasonably well against them this season. We did a really good job of containing Eddie Johnson last time, hopefully we can find more of a defense in the upcoming games.

There's a bit in another blog about Robbie Fowler coming to play in New England. Cool if it happened, but it won't happen. It was posted ages ago, too...

Let me know if you have team news, comments, or poo to fling. Just comment or email!
Have a good one.
