The First and Finest

Hello!

Welcome to The Fort, a community and blog where us faithful supporters of the New England Revolution can interact and share our insanity. As I am writing this very first entry, the Revs have just gone down to Colorado 3-nil in the 75th. A bad omen? Let's hope not.

Now, I want to get some things out of the way. I created this site because the Revs' site is woeful and the Midnight Riders' official page is even worse. I really wanted a place where people could come, read a funny blog, and have conversations about the team we all love. Therefore, it isn't me that will make this popular, it is YOU! Yea, you. There. So go to all the pages you know and tell all the fans you know, check out this site and post! Start some conversations, send me stories, I really want to work to increase our common knowledge.

So now to brass tacks. Down 3-nil to the Rapids. I just got back from work about ten minutes through the second half so I only just saw replays of the penalty and the cheap shot that got us in a hole. What is up with this season? We have beaten so many good teams convincingly only to lose pretty horribly against the bad ones. Our real issues lie in two areas: defensive organization and left mid. It seems that every time I turn around, I am seeing some horrible fast break, and Reis has to work extra hard to be the brilliant keeper he is. NO keeper can stop a decent striker when he has all the time in the world, it is unbelievable that Reis has to work as hard as he does in order to preserve a lead or keep at a shutout. When we lose, it is because the defense doesn't play. Simple enough formula, really.

Khano. The man has gone from pissing me off to being decent to pissing me off again, in the span of a month. At this point I am wondering what Nicol saw in him...I see the promise of something better, but he is just so inconsistent it is mind-boggling. It remains to be seen if Nicol will play Wells more often, but I am really impressed with the kid. He shows a tendency to be very smart, and slightly selfish for a midfielder, which I see as a good thing. He has played better on the right subbing in for Stevie but I think he is good enough on the left to make a strong impact.

That is all, it is late and I am tired.

Just remember all, with your help this can be the first and finest source of information regarding our team. MajorLeagueSoccer magazine has Toronto FC's fan support as the best in MLS. Let's prove them all wrong.
